On my beige G3 400 mhz AV unit, running Panther 10.3.9, with 768 megs of RAM, with iTunes 4.8, GasLight will not even show up in the iTunes "Visualizer" menu, no matter where I install it. On my daughter's G4 400 mhz unit, also running Panther 10.3.9, with 832 megs of RAM, and iTunes 4.8, GasLight does show in the "Visualizer" menu after installation, but it refuses to work. Going by our own experiences, as well as other previous comments posted here on VT, it seems that while GasLight may be a nice visualizer, it apparently still has some bugs, quirks or compatibility issues. We'd like to try it out, but we can't until these issues are resolved.
Doesn't Work On G3 or G4 - Jonathan del Strother
Would you check something for me? On your machine, load Console (in /Applications/Utilities), and see what text gets chucked to the Console as iTunes loads.I'm half-expecting to see "dyld returns 2 when trying to load blahblahblah", though I haven't figured out how to fix that yet.
As for your daughter's machine, how does it not work? Is there a crash log you could send me, anything?
Cheers,
Jon (GasLight Guy)
