I've found that there are some things that the new Dashboard suits me well. Mainly in running widgets that I need to see and update at the same time, like weather maps and traffic cams for example. But then, there are other things I like running on the desktop all the time, a clock showing local time, a small widget reporting network use etc... I'm happy to report that at least for me, there is no need for either/or thinking here. Dashboard and Konfabulator compliment each other nicely.

Would I pay for Konfabulator now that Dashboard is availible? Take a look at their library of widgets for your answer. It will be awhile before Dashboard catches up. And even when they do, Konfabulator still fills a need for constant running/updating widgets.
