Tiger version coming within a few days

Feedback Type:  Developer Note

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

Recommend Product: YES

The negative reviews here are a little odd, and I'll comment on those in a bit. For now, we'd like to let you all know that our Tiger version will be released within days. Because of radical (and good) changes Apple has made to iSync, e2Sync 1.3.4 breaks under Tiger. This has meant a bit of a wait as we rewrite e2Sync from the bottom up.

There's some great news though. In this process, we've discovered that many of the bugs we were struggling to fix were not our bugs but bugs in iSync. Apple has fixed many of these issues in iSync 2.0 (Tiger). What this means for you, is a much better product.

We're only a few days away from releasing a public beta of 2.0, and we should have a release build just a week later.

In this new build, we have also extended category support, so you may simply choose the Entourage categories you'd like to sync, and this applies not just to contacts anymore, but tasks and events as well.

And now that we don't have a bunch of impossible-to-fix bugs to deal with, we have a lot more time to spend on adding the features so look for some very functional new features over the next few months, and some features that are just plain cool!

Free upgrades for life. You know what it's like, Apple breaks things so often during upgrades, you're never sure when a developer is going to make you fork over more $$ just so you can keep doing the same thing. Well, we got sick of that too and have introduced free upgrades for life. Pay one price, get free upgrades. So next time you think our $39 price tag is a little on the high side, just remember how much we're actually saving you in the long run!

Now, those rather horrible negative comments being posted here on VT. Those of you who are real and have bought our product and tested our support will know that our claims are real. Support usually responds within an hour or 2, unless it's at night and then you might have to wait 6 or 7 hours. We are unsettled by the comments being left here, and can only say "an enemy has done this". That's a quote from a good book btw. We think it's probably our competitor who's sales have probably dropped to zero since our launch. It's hard to compete with something that just works! The best thing you can do, is test our support and our product for yourself and draw your own conclusions. We have a 10-day trial version, so what's stopping you?

Tiger version coming within a few days - elw5468_dotmac

I have read the comments by the e2sync representative and can add with first hand experience that this group of individuals have demonstrated to me a real comittment to both developing a fine product and responding within hours to any concerns that I had with their software. I bought early and worked through many bugs with their support staff. They were diligent in trying to ascertain the problems and provided solutions in a very timely manner. I have upgraded to Tiger and anxiously await their new version.

Whether the negative posts are from enemys, competitors or just impatient/ill-informed users will probably never be determined. The proof will be in the pudding....let's see if the chiefs have cooked up an outstanding new flavor!!

Tiger version coming within a few days - Edquist

This piece of software is superb! And so is the support. But I'm still eagerly awaiting the release of the Tiger compatible version. Today it's way past the June 3 release that they indicated.

This is really ridiculous - Stanislas

Those comments about their competitors and "the enemy" are utterly ludicrous.
I bought this software, it did not work, made me lose a lot of time.
I asked refund to Kagi (e2sync themselves refused to talk about it)
and Kadi refunded fully.
Baseline :
1/ e2sync are dishonest and paranoïd (it goes often together)
2/ Kagi has been quite respectful of the customer
3. e2sync knows perfectly well I I was a true customer and not a
mole from the "enemy". Here is the proof :
Thank you for supporting the development of e2Sync software.
