GPGMail & 10.4.1

Feedback Type:  Developer Note

Contributed by: Tuesday, May 17 2005 @ 01:15 AM PDT

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

MacOS X 10.4.1 will automatically disable all Mail bundles when encountering them the first time. To re-enable GPGMail (which works fine with 10.4.1), you need to:
  • Quit Mail
  • In Finder, rename folder
    $HOME/Library/Mail/Bundles (Disabled)
    back to
    $HOME/Library/Mail/Bundles
  • In Terminal, type:
    defaults write com.apple.mail EnableBundles 1
    defaults write com.apple.mail BundleCompatibilityVersion 2
  • Relaunch Mail

GPGMail & 10.4.1 - sdfisher

There is absolutely no way I am using the defaults command to write over Mail's protocol version to get bundles to work. The author of GPGMail should put out a version that reports that it works with the updated protocol version. That anyone would suggest this brutal workaround in seriousness terrifies me. If it originally came from the author of GPGMail, I've now lost all trust in that product.

GPGMail & 10.4.1 - lordrefa

I did that exactly as described. Now my Mail.app starts, but doesn't show the main window. If I click on Window/Main Window, Mail crashes.
I am running OSX 10.4.1 on a 1.2 GHz G4 Ibook with 768 MB RAM, GPGMail is 1.1 for Tiger and Mail is version 2.01 (730)

Anyone interested in the dump ?
