Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: YES

The whole Dock Apps Framework is such a great and nifty idea that one wonders why Apple hasn't incorporated it into the OS. First install the Dock Apps Framework Technology (DAFT) from sf.net. Then, install and run Coconut. You see the network data of your choice in the format of your choosing as a beautiful animated dock icon. My only complaint is that this network monitor has a slightly high CPU load, according to the other Dock App Amnesia. Nevertheless, this is a great little program. It's awfully useful.

A wonderful little App - Jay

I searched all over sf.net (SourceForge), but could not find DAFT. So I gave up.

A wonderful little App - dockapp

As of version 1.02, both Coconut and Amnesia are freed from the requirement of installing the DAFT Framework separately. It is now integrated in the .app bundle.

I'm pleased that you enjoy the program.

BTW, Re: cpu usage - the cpu usage often varies, and I believe that it has to do with whether or not the images used in rendering are being cached in VRAM or not. I suspect that cards with huge amounts of VRAM (and Tiger installations that support Quartz 2D extreme) will have a far lower cpu util for this program.
