I've been trying everything I can think of, but even with the 1.98 r9a build (on 10.3.9), the game is just flat out unplayable. It won't respond to keyboard controls, won't respond to my joystick, and will only respond to my mouse, which makes the ship very hard to use.
I'd like to try the new 1.99b build, but where can I download it? (all the links seem to point to the old 1.99 build)
Thanks to the developer(s) for responding to comments!

Use the DMG link, of from the SF.net page (http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/nogravity).The latest version is 1.99, build from 11/May/05. The readme says '1.99b' (it doesn't uses the libstdc++ anymore).
You can download the previous version 1.98r9a which is MacOS fully 10.3 compatible, but no analog joystick support, only digital pad works in fact. Keyboard always works, but there is on situation: If you have the mouse over a menu selection, the cursor up/down doesn't work (it have priority). Maybe it's the problem you have.
Please post all you bug in the SF.net page instead of VersionTracker, so it can logged and I could give you direct support.
Cheers;
