I bought and installed VirusBarrier X to eliminate Microsoft Macro Viruses... which it did just fine. But... a few days after installing it I started to notice that my machine (and certain apps) had slowed to a crawl:

Palm Desktop could barely keep up when typing a memo.
Switching between apps was slower... and most notable when switching back to IE.
InDesign was tediously slow... and I thought it had something to do with laying out 120 page book.

Now that I'm done with a huge project (all done very slooowwwly), I had some time to see what might be affecting things.

After removing NetUpdate and VirusBarrier folders from my startup folder, I feel like I have a new computer.

Goodbye VirusBarrier.
