Tiger has been officially out for a week and obviously lots of software needs updating. For a 25 year veteran that's nothing new to me. In the software world there appear to be three kinds of companies: 1) those that let their customers know if there are issues with the new OS along with an assurance that updates are forthcoming. 2) those that say nothing and even ignore user contact, as if this information is a state secret. 3) those that don't update their current software for the new OS and force users to buy an upgrade.
You Software certainly doesn't belong to category 1. For a while I was thinking I should place them in category 2. But on reflection, given their March madness sale, I'm beginning to think they might have sucked in lots of new owners with the intent of being a category 3 company.
Under Tiger there are lots of little glitches with YouControl, YouControl Desktop is essentially useless. And the company remains silent.
Wanna bet sometime this week or maybe as late as early June we hear about YouControl v2 with a $20 upgrade fee for current users? And no fixes for the glitches in v1, of course.

Useless rant. - Staggie
Your post is nonsensical. You Software has already released Tiger compatible updates. The updates are FREE.
There are large numbers of companies that have not yet delivered updates for 10.4; based on your logic, they're all malevolent and planning to screw us all. What's the basis for your paranoid ramblings that You has terrible service and was out to charge everybody more? Certainly nothing to do with reality.

Useless rant. - file13--2008
Unfortunately the YS updates are useless in correcting many of the bugs in Tiger. If you have any doubt, try looking at the YS Forums...<http://forums.yousoftware.com/viewtopic.php?p=1502#1502>
...and see a litany of complaints about all manner of problems with these 'updates'. In relation to the Tiger release, YS has done a pitiful job in serving its customers. And the fact is that they are one of the very few professional software companies that appear to have been totally unprepared for Tiger.

I completely agree - durdles--2008
with the previous comment. One person sharewares are doing a better job at informing users of the proiblems and getting upgrades out. As the days go by, I am finding others ways to do what You Control does (or did before Tiger broke it). I'm back to using Synergy again. I may even start to look at iClock and Max Menus again.Just a quick e-mail or posting on their web site wouold go a long way to maintaining customer loyalty.
