I need it to function on my main machine and PowerBook, and on my wife's home and work machines. Since I only have one wife and there's only one me, that's two users and fits within the spirit of Adobe's license (...I think? Er...probably). But if I can't install it on that many machines then it's actually _less_ useful than the current version to me, new features aside. So that's at least one upgrade sale lost. (Photoshop user since v3, Illustrator since v6)
I can't say I expect Adobe to keel over from the combined wrath of outraged users, but honestly there's gotta be a better way to do this...

I couldn't agree more. Like many pros, I use a *number* of drives -- all with the same system and apps I clone from a master drive I keep clean and never use for work.Activation is going to make that a nightmare. On the other hand, I don't think Adobe has any right to stop you from using it CS on as many DRIVES as you wish -- so long as they are connected to the same CPU.
