Doesn't want to log into my Gmail account

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Even with the latest (1.0.4) version I am having the same problem as someone did last year in that I can't log into my Gmail account.

The pop in tooltip text reports... "Could not log in to Gmail. Wrong username or password?"

I've tried carefully re-entering into GmailStatus both my username and password many times with no luck. I've even tried trashing the GmailStatus preferences file (while GmailStatus wasn't running) and the "keychain" password entry, and then re-entering the information. Still no joy.

The only thing I can think of is that after my first install of GmailStatus I decided that I didn't like my Gmail user ID so I created a new account (different user ID but the same password) and then killed my original Gmail account.

I have no trouble getting into my new account using the browser but with GmailStatus access is no go.

Does GmailStatus store account information somewhere in addition to the single prefs file and the keychain? And if so, where can I find it so I can clear it?

I look forward to being able to use GmailStatus. It seems like a handy tool to have.

Thanks!
