Can someone rewrite the Product Description in clear, plain English? Geez. I have no idea what this guy is saying (and I'm not dumb).

That's not entirely true. If you have a newer Mac than those, it will enable Quartz Extreme on a PCI video card with a second (or third) display. If for example there's a Rage128 in the AGP you may have given your Mac a PCI Radeon 7000 or 9200 which outperform the original Rage by far.

i agree that the description says hardly anything and the disclaimer (i think it was meant as a disclaimer) should have been a lot clearer. he states that many users complain that their systems become unstable or unusable after applying the patch. good to know! a little more info than that (such as what to do about it) would have been nice.Thursday, July 06 2006 @ 08:59 AM PDT

It enables CoreGraphics (QuartzExtreme + Quartz 2D + Core Image, if possible) acceleration over graphics cards on the PCI bus. If you don't understand it from that, the patch probably doesn't apply to you.Basically, if you don't have a Blue and White G3, Yosemite G4, or older Powermac, this doesn't apply to you at all.
