I'm pretty disappointed with 1.5, actually ... neither the Dashboard Widget nor the Spotlight integration are working for me, even after trashing preferences and caches, and reinstalling the software from scratch. Clearly, the Delicious folks need to do some more-thorough testing prior to issuing a release. :(

New features broken ... - Drew Hamlin

Montanan, we've tested Spotlight and Dashboard throughly and it's working great - but a couple people are having trouble because Spotlight technology can sometimes be a little testy in Tiger so far.

Sorry you're having so much trouble with this! Make sure that you only have only one copy of Delicious Library on your computer (even in your Trash!) - there seems to be a bug in Tiger where multiple copies of our application (and contained Spotlight plugin) will cause the entire importer to stop working.

Delicious Library stores it's Spotlight "metadata" in ~/Library/Caches/Metadata/Delicious Library Items/

Try deleting this entire folder, and re-launching Delicious Library. You can see them populate the index builds. Once it's finished, open Delicious Library's Preferences (in the Library menu) and uncheck "Enable Dashboard Widget."

Now open Dashboard, remove any Delicious Library widgets from the dash, and scroll around until you see that the Delicious Library widget is gone (there is a bug in the current Dashboard that will not show changes until you scroll around once). If your screen fits all of the widgets, you can also reset Dashboard by typing "killall Dock" in the Terminal.

Now back in Delicious Library's preferences, re-check the "Enable Dashboard Widget" preference, and repeat the step of resetting the Dashboard by scrolling or killing the Dock. Now try dragging the Dashboard widget back out onto the dash and performing a search.

Let's see if that works. :) You should never have to do all this at all, but doing it will make sure that we're on a completely clean slate, and it will hopefully get it working. Let me know if it's still not.

Thanks for the suggestions. I gave it a try, and unfortunately it didn't help at all.

Out of intellectual curiosity, I also did a fresh install of the software on my laptop (which hadn't previously contained the software), created a new database with a few CDs, and tried Spotlight. Nothing. :(

I've posted some more information about this on our FAQ at http://www.delicious-monster.com/help - and if you're still having trouble, please email me at delicious@delicious-monster.com and I'll work with you until we get it working. There are some limitations of Spotlight currently - most people have it work right away, but I've had a few people really struggle to get it off the ground (some more than others), but I haven't had a case where we haven't found and solved the problem with their system yet. So please email me and we'll work through to a solution. Again I apologize that you weren't able to get it working yet.

For what it's worth I also had this problem and the troubleshooting tips worked fine.
