Try upgrading. The problems you described were solved over a year ago. You are complaining about a V2.0 product. This is an announcement for a 3.0 upgrade. If you still have your copy of SX2.xx, upgrade it to 2.2.0b39 here: ftp://ftp.pinnaclesys.com/Steinberg/download/Downloads_MAC/OSX/Cubase_SX/Cubase_SX_220b39/Cubase_SX_2.2.0.39_Update.dmg

And while you're at it, upgrade the Syncrosoft driver as well.
