This is a handy tool for remapping certain keys. I have an ergonomic split keyboard, but it was designed for Windows use, not Mac. Therefore, the positions of the control, alt, and windows keys (control, option, and command on the Mac) needed to be remapped.
The tool performs as advertised with two caveats. Every time I log in or restart the computer, the key mapping doesn't take effect until I open up the ucontrol control panel. So I've added ucontrol to my login items to make the process more automatic.
Second, I had some issues remapping the caps lock key to perform as a control key. This worked fine in previous versions of ucontrol, but in this version the GUI wouldn't allow me to do the mapping. I ended up having to open up the prefs file for ucontrol and mess around with it until I got something which worked.
I'd appreciate it if the developer(s) could fix a few of these issues.
By the way - anyone have luck using it with 10.3.9? I'm still on 10.3.8 because the last OS update broke ucontrol for a while...
