It's pretty dumb that I can't just plug in my own Shuffle into my own Mac at the office and play my own music. How on earth is that copy protection?

Disable auto-sync to listen elsewhere - lullabud

Actually you can just plug in your iPod to another computer an listen. You just have to disable automatic sync. This does not, however, let you copy the music from the iPod onto the computer that it is plugged into.

Yeah, for the iPod. But we're talking about the Shuffle, which _does not_ allow for a manual setting. Period. Try it....
