...but as a PowerBook user I find my system strained to keep up with it.
I don't normally play games, but enjoy a good sim now and then. Republic is a great concept, and with the ongoing issues in the many former Soviet states like Kyrzygstan it remains timely.
But alas I can't say I love it. In fact, without the horsepower it needs I can't even say I've finished it. I've left my saved games in place and intend to get back to them, but I'll have to wait until I get a faster machine.
I hope the company reps read this and consider the possibility of a redesigned re-release with fewer features, blowing off the graphic glits and focusing on the core strategy which is the heart of the game.
This is a wonderful option for people like me who don't play many games but who do find sims and political strategy interesting. I recommend it with the caveats noted above, and in the hopes that the developer will consider bringing the game back to its roots as an interesting political simulation.
