Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

I tested my connection speed before and after installing and I ended up losing about 100kbps.

I followed the instructions and fixed permissions after installing. I also followed the instructions to:
"To verify that the changes are in effect, open Terminal and type sysctl. The listing should contain the following lines:
net.inet.tcp.sendspace: 65536
net.inet.tcp.recvspace: 65536
net.inet.tcp.delayed_ack: 0
net.inet.udp.recvspace: 73728

I did not get these listings. I got "sysctl" with various letter listings.
Maybe we need new instructions for this app?

No luck here - s. stevens

You have to type sysctl -a in the terminal. Otherwise you'll see all the different options (which is what it sounds like you got). Make sure it's in the root Library folder of your startup disk (not your User directory), i.e., Macintosh HD:Library:StartupItems

Then check sysctl -a in terminal after restart. You'll find with some cable and dsl modems that you will take a speed hit and should simply remove it from the StartupItems folder (above). Good luck. I find it indispensable.
