"There are several 1 star reviews for a product that won't ship until may. This isn't right. How can you review something you couldn't have possibly used?"
There is something on the VT site called COMMENTARY and FEEDBACK... you don't HAVE to use an application to understand what those are and utililze them, that's what they are here for... in fact, the fact that features of the CS2 apps have been released in press, people have EVERY RIGHT to comment on them and whether or not it merits a CS2 title.

Perhaps it's time that you re-evaluate who actually does and does not understand the concept of Versiontracker.com.

"The tech industry changes so fast that it's not reasonable to go back very far for free upgrades."
Now you're making the mistake of misinterpreting the USE and DEVELOPMENT of a computer to the actual process of DEVELOPMENT of an APPLICATION which runs on it. Also using an app isn't anything like buying a new computer or developing it and selling it so that was a bad analogy to make there guy... computer companies PURPOSELY hold back info because their goal is to sell off as many of the OLD product as possible so they don't lose money (which they never do anyhow).

A software development company PURPOSELY leaks secrets about upcoming upgrades in the attempt to keep their LOYAL customers coming back. And when a SW company is in fledgling or development stages themselves, they ALWAYS offer great incentives to the previous customers who have been shafted by purchasing an app then an upgrade comes out soon after without being announced.

Now what you're missing is this: people are upset, and rightfully so, because they are being shafted for money as this upgrade is nothing spectacular to merit a CS2 title, especially when major bugs in CS1 have NOT even been addressed... one expects to buy a car that works properly, if it doesn't, then you take it back in for the warranty and NOT get charged for the cost of a brand new car to fix it. That's what the upgrades are supposed to be, FIXES that shouldn't have to be fixed in the first place, should have been caught before final release.

NOT ONLY THAT... but Adobe forces people to give their personal register info and that, in turn, is entered into Adobe's database with which they use it for marketing purposes – hence making more money (they do sell and use info for those purposes, I'm in marketing, I know that no matter what the privacy policy says, THEY DO sell it for profit). But yet, they don't pay us for their ability to use our personal information to make money off of, instead, they raise prices on us left and right when the core of the apps are already there and it's less work to upgrade. Not only is it less money, it's NECESSARY for them to do to stay competitive, so they shouldn't hit US with the costs of a NECESSITY for their company to survive so that the CEO's can drive around in their million dollar cars.

It comes down to a "do we shaft the customer for our our own gain" or "do we keep our customers loyal and happy and make more money in the long-run" issue... I think people are upset that it's coming down to the "shaft the customer" with Adobe. I personally agree, Adobe won't get another red cent from me until they stop forcing me to give my personal information to them.

"And the developers shouldn't have even posted this here."
My my my... you just know it all don't you! OK, well, THEY did, it was THEIR choice, and they also released the info to presses... you've attempted to tell people what they should/ should not/ can/ can not post here and now you're going to tell Adobe what they should and should not post and release? You should consider running for VP of Adobe... oh wait, you'd be fired in a heartbeat! Perhaps you should run for dictator of some communist country then you can instill martial law and then you can tell everyone what and what not to do all day long!

"...especially Go Live and I do take issue with that."
How can you possibly complain about GoLive prices raising on CS2 when you haven't even used it yet! ;-)

"So hold your judgments until you try the product..."
I divert everyone's attention to the above bold-faced commentary... anyone here smell HYPOCRISY!!!

"And don't forget if you are a student, or you have a student in the house, you can get the whole suite for around $379..."
Oh, now you're telling people to scam Adobe and use their child as a way to get a discount! Hmm... you tell us to be moral and hold our comments back then you go ahead and tell parents or siblings of a student to use their youth as a way to get cheaper prices...

Real nice!

Me thinks that you wanted to post here just because you like to rant and rave nonsensically and you think you're always right.

Dude, you're the one ranting. Why get yourself all worked up over nothing? You need to take a break from the Internet, go get some fresh air and stop acting like a child.

Pointing out hypocrisy and lack of forethought before insulting people isn't ranting... I'm sorry that, for you, it must be tough to write an email equivalent to the one that I did, but for intelligent people as myself, it's really not that difficult, took all but 5 minutes of time... not much in my book. :-)

So insulting me and not having the ability to read what I typed for content must be tough... good luck to you with all of that!
