I just used this real small program to import the audio from a microcassette to an MP3 on my 15" Powerbook thru the microphone jack. Worked just great, but there's one little bug I think I found. I chose to monitor my recording (via a checkbox in Audio Recorder), and when my recording was done, I closed the program and changed my audio input device back to the onboard mic that sits in the left speaker on my Powerbook. While typing a bit later, I noticed that the sound of my keys clacking was getting picked up by the onboard mic and "monitored" in the external speakers I keep attached to my Powerbook thru the headphone jack. Anyway, I re-opened Audio recorder, unchecked the monitor option, and the monitoring stopped.

So, long story short, the "monitor audio" feature keeps working after quitting the application. I'm absolutely convinced this is so the developer can log our keystrokes.

Cool little program, strange little bug - benshan

In previous versions, AR would remember the setting when it launched, then set it back when exiting. This introduced an nasty bug where you needed to use another application to actually turn off monitoring.

This won't be an issue when AR supports software monitoring.
