It seems to always be crashing. I haven't been able to use it yet without it crashing. When I hit "go" nothing happens. Does it take time to originally scan the disk??
Not sure what to do. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

Doesn't crash here - Xeater
I've been using MacTheRipper for many months and it has not crashed once on my system. The problem is either at your end or specific to your system configuration. Stop polluting VT ratings with your troubleshooting problems - it unfairly tarnishes the image of this application, and you will not get good feedback on your problem. If you have a problem like this, then try a troubleshooting forum.Sometimes an app really is junk and it crashes for everyone. A quick scan of the reviews for MacTheRipper should make it clear that this application doesn't just crash all the time. If it were a beta or a new application then perhaps your review would be warranted, but currently it amounts to spam and is mucking up the review system.

Now that's the spirit! You've never had a problem, so when others who have different hardware and software from you experience a problem, they're just a bunch of friggin' idiots!Monday, April 25 2005 @ 07:36 AM PDT

regardless of some people's blind devotion to a product, I find it helpful when users report problems with an application. Just because most users do not have a problem doesn't mean all users will never have trouble with an App. And I highly doubt the VT rating system was designed to artificially make a product appear better than it actually is.Saturday, April 23 2005 @ 10:42 PM PDT
