I've tried quite a few different programs to capture pieces of information. Some of them have large footprints and scatter stuff over your disk. Others work well, but are rather slow and overkill for the task.

Hog Bay Notebook strikes pretty much the perfect balance. Quick and light, but with plenty of functionality. The new v3.5 is really the icing on the cake. Well worth the shareware fee.
