Kudos & Thank You! This is by far the best duplicate file removal tool I've had the pleasure of using.

The included documentation explained the process by which the software compares files and and I am confident that files it declares to be duplicates are in fact duplicates to my satisfaction.

The automated mode is wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!

I do agree that VersionTracker is perhaps not the best forum for CLI (command line interface) programs as most VersionTracker users are not familiar with Unix (or Perl - not that the software categories at VT are Mac OS X, Mac OS 8/9, Windows and Palm - no flavors of *nix at all!) Perhaps www.entropy.ch, osx.freshmeat.net, darwinports.opendarwin.org, sourceforge.net or www.osxgnu.org would be more appropriate.

That said, for those of you in the GUI (graphical user interface) crowd, you aren't going to find a better duplicate file tool than this - if you really need such a tool it would be well worth your time to learn to use it from the command line. Once you are comfortable with the command structure its actually very easy to use and the automated process only requires opening Terminal, typing 23 characters and dragging two folders with the mouse:

"cd (be sure you pressed the spacebar, then drag the dupseek program folder to the Terminal window and press return)
./dupseek -b kill (be sure your left a space and then drag a folder of files to check into the terminal window and press return.)"
