Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

I have not run any side by side comparisons on DropDV 1.x and 2.x. There does not appear to be any use of multiprocessing on my G4 Dual 1.42 PowerPC.

Listed as a new feature for 2.x, is “Multiprocessor enabled.” I am curries what this means in the MAC world? While an application may be aware of multiprocessors, it is something again to exploit that environment. I have not observed any sign that this is being done. Multiprocessing allows the execution of more than one task at a time.

This application does not warrants a price increase of 100%. Is this code entitled to be called shareware code?

I worked as an Advisory Systems Engineer for 24 years. I wrote code for the operating system. This code runs on over 40 large frame IBM systems. The system is written to run on multiple CPUs. It can dispatch the same code on one or more CPUs. It can subtask and run different code on different CPUs.
