Still can't create a new file...

Same problem as my last comment. This time using iBook - 500 MHz PowerPC G3 - 640 MB SDRAM - OS 10.3.8

Still can't create a new file... - aPelican

I don't know what's going on, but from Quali's previous comment, i'll suggest this:
After selecting New File menu item, select EventRecord menu item and enter some records in the Record Window (or do the same for SpanRecord), then choose Timeline menu item to see the resultant timeline. That's the sequence of events in the program. If, even when the proper sequence of events are followed, Quali can't create a timeline, then there is something wrong in the program I think, but I can't recreate the problem. He'd have to give me more details.
