When a developer creates a small, easy-to-use app like this, oftentimes a few cynics jump in with "...you can do the same thing using Terminal with just a couple of simple ccommands" or "...there's this way to do this, and it's free, or that way, or whatever".
Yes, one could use Disk Utility to create encrypted Disk Image, for free even, and maybe one could use Cypher (if you could figure out which one to use, or even find the right one; neither have been updated in over 2 years).
But, this app does a wonderfully-easy-to-do encryption with the option to create a self-decrypting file or one that will be manually decrypted. And, it encrypts folders as well as single files using a very clean and simple interface.
A nice app to have when you want to do a quick encryption and it has the coolest icon!! Heck, the icon alone is worth the shareware fee (and you get a great app with it!)
