I've seen it as well. QuickTime play of MPEG4 video starts out with an all-green screen followed by a lot of garbage. I'm using VLC until a new version of EyeTV corrects this.Saturday, March 12 2005 @ 01:02 AM PST
Workaround for QuickTime MPEG4 bug - MH1234567890
The problem is caused by /Library/QuickTime/EyeTV MPEG Support.component. This package is created by the EyeTV app and will be recreated if you delete it and run EyeTV again. What I did is replace it with a locked dummy 0-byte file. The lock will cause EyeTV to ask you for an admin password upon launch, but you can just cancel out. EyeTV seems to run and save files fine with way, and QuickTime can once again play MPEG4's.Saturday, March 12 2005 @ 11:13 AM PST

I just discovered in an older comment that the problem appears to be 3ivX-related, see:Caution with V1.7 mpeg4 codec and Quicktime player (comment by azstefano_dotmac)
