Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

Not too impressed with this app. Almost none of the recommendations were useful - it either brought back recommendations of songs/albums already in the library, or many that I would not purchase or listen to. I don't recommend this app, it would be a lot easier and more beneficial to just go to iTunes or Amazon.com and just browse their recommended music. (especially since Goombah takes you to the iTunes music store anyway when you want to check out some of the music it suggests)

Nothing fantastic - garyrog

See my Develper Note entitled Recommendation Quality, posted in this discussion list today. It's premature to judge us on recommendation quality for reasons described in detail there.

I will add though that you made one good point, which echoes other feedback we've received recently: it shouldn't recommend artists that you already have (or at the very least there should be a preference setting for that).

That's obviously an easy thing to add and you can expect us to add it soon.

We haven't been as focused on refining the recommendation-related features as much as on some other parts of the code that have been even a higher immediate priority. But we are now hearing loud and clear that even during this beta period people want us to do as well as we can with recommendations.

We hear you and we'll do what you need.
