When clicking on a link to a streaming video in Safari the .rm file is just downloaded to my Downloads folder without launching RealPlayer.
I need to open the .rm file manually for the streaming to start.

Won't launch from Safari - Timothy Bright
I think it might be because I don't have Safari set to "Open Safe Files After Downloading" checked...I'm not willing to enable that option, so I guess I'll just have to live with this limitation. Still, it seems odd...

You can either double-click the icons in Safari's downloads window, or use the browser windows built into RealPlayer 10 to click links to the audio or video (choose New Browser from RealPlayer's File menu to open a browser window, or click the RealGuide "global" button in the player window.)Saturday, March 05 2005 @ 10:38 PM PST
Won't launch from Safari - Hawaiian Starman
Bring up the info panel for the file, at the bottom make sure the file is directed to Real Player and select "change all". Next time similar file type will load directly.Reply to This
