Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

Recommend Product: YES

I now kow why MSFT and APPL make money: click and install. So its freeware? How about some simple instructions? I don't need some geek telling me to "search the web" if you don't understand. Most of the search results come back to this thread, anyway. This download is billed as "Samba for Mac OS X" so where's the package? I get a zillion files in folders and not a clue as to how to begin.

Here's what I need: I want to share ALL the drives on my Mac with Windoz, not just my 'User'. I know I can do that in Samba (I've done it in Linux) so why is there this (shades of jumpers and DIP switches) mumbo-jumbo? What do I do--in plain English, please? BTW, I'm ignorant, not stupid! Please, this is NOT a flame, just cut the condescending crap. And another thing, what's with all these versions of Samba?

search the Web? - davidlaska

Telling someone to search the web is a given these days, so what it means is I do not know enough to answer the question.

search the Web? - sjk

It can also mean that someone knows the answer is on the web and doesn't have time to look it up for someone else. How much "free" help do people expect nowadays?
