Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

Recommend Product: YES

While this utility work well, it will only back up your files to a disk image. This is very inconvenient. And i understand its price will soon double. While a solid choice...certainly not my first.

Limited appeal... - Raquen

Not true!
There is probably some issue with your drivers for your burner.
I'm using it with a "SuperDrive"
a Pioneer dvr-106D, Pioneer dvr-107D & a Pioneer dvr-108 all work great!! I even have one with dual drives. No issue with any

You misunderstood. Of course it will back up to other drives...but I'm saying it only backs up to archives (compressed files).

In fact, plain-file archiving is fully supported. - babelcompany

Hello,

I just wanted to add some information to the previous comment - Impression has a choice of two archiving formats (selectable in Advanced options on the Backup Configuration sheet): Plain-file (Finder-readable) and Restorable (hfspax-based).

There are even options to disable segmentation between discs so that you'll end up with a fully Finder-readable set of assets that span a large set of CD/DVDs. Photographers and DAM engineers find this quite handy as it fully automates this tedious, time consuming task.

Thanks for reading and letting me clear up this point.

Best,

Steve Elliott
