Poor features

Feedback Type:  Review

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: 1-6 months

Recommend Product: YES

It's running quite stable but is missing many features.

  • Why is there no search function in the DL pane?
  • Why is there no option to limit searches generally for certain file types, e. g. ".mp3. Not just to "Music" and not just for each search separately again and again?
  • Why does Aquisition (generally) include hits in the pathname in your searches and not just those in the filename and ID3 tags?
  • Why is there no possibility to have the DL pane in a separate (own) window, at least optionally?
  • Why can't you expand a search pattern instead of deleting it and creating a new one?
  • Why is there no possibility to save your results or import your "Incomplete" folder? Just for the case Aquisition doesn't find them again after restart ... as sometimes happens, and you lose all your results an incomplete downloads.
  • Why does Aquisition offer incomplete files, when I set a different folder for UL and have "Share files currently being downloaded" unticked? There are already too many apps offering incomplete (and unfixed) files. Exactely those hunters and collectors don't check their files ... and offering a bunch of incomplete, broken, wrong named, ... files. Horrible!
  • Is there no way to exclude results from those spammers, who reply to each search with JPGs and WMVs?

Generally Aquisition is a solid app, but with some improvements it could make life easier.

Poor features - craigminah

You can filter your search results by keyword.
Why would you save your search results? Those are only there when the peer is providing them. Makes no sense to keep them as they change all the time (that's why you can't resume them later in the first place).

Poor features - APGiuliano

If you can name a P2P program that has the features you have noted, please enlighten all of us. Other than that I am SURE you are NOT a paid user, so go troll elsewhere, you are not adding anything to the pot nor bringing anything to the table...

Poor features - manicman

Actually he is making a list of shortcomings of an app. Whether he paid for it or not doesn't matter, everyone can benefit from knowing shortcomings and issues. So please don't call him a troller, you are obviously too sensitive to deal with people that don't pay for an application that gives you an option to pay or not.

Poor Features - APGiuliano

This is true, I acted in haste as for the FIRST time EVER, this poster actually had something constructive and insightful to offer and not just rant and natter. My sincere apologies and i will keep my imbibing of Merlot and Sauvignon to a limit of 2 glasses with dinner from now on...
