I think those who are issuing complaints about NoteTaker having too many features would, frankly, like to see its development slowed down so that the competitors can catch up. I've tried all the other outliners at one time or the other and nothing else comes close. I use NoteTaker every day and have for a couple (at least, not sure how long really) of years. It is an amazing program and is rapidly becoming moreso. I've managed to find good uses for virtually every feature. It NEVER crashes, not since early versions and I usually have it running with 10 to 15 other programs and with a half-dozen notebooks open. When I've had problems with the program it has usually turned out to be my incomplete understanding of a feature and its functionality. The authors have always been nearly immediate with explanations to me. When it was not my misunderstanding the developers have always responded and fixed the issue quickly.
To be sure, this is a very deep and sophisticated program when used as such but it can also be used in a very simple manner. It's sort of like math. If all you want to do is a little addition, like 2 + 3 = 5, then you only need the superficial "arithmetic" layer of math. However, if you intend to evaluate the bending of space-time in the vicinity of a pulsar you are going to have to learn quite a bit more math. It's up to you really whether you want to use NoteTaker as a simple outliner and record keeper or delve into all the sophisticated levels of functionality that it can provide you.
Anyway, I'm going to download version 1.9.3 and experiment with it now. Enough of this chit-chat.
