I've been using USB Overdrive for over five years, since back when Mac OS 9 was my main operating system. My new mouse is a Logitech MX-1000 Laser Mouse which is terrific, except:
1- I hate the Logitech drivers since I can't have different settings for different applications.
2- I therefore use USB Overdrive (as noted above), but some of the buttons on the new mouse are not recognized by USB Overdrive. Does anyone know how to get these buttons to work?
3- At seemingly random times, the pointer "jumps" down, exactly vertically, about 20% of the total screen distance. This occurs only when the mouse is in motion, not when it is stationary. When I unplug this mouse and reattach my older Logitech mouse, this behavior disappears. Any ideas as to how to repair this behavior? Is it a problem with my mouse hardware or do I just need to bite the bullet and install the Logitech drivers?
