This 'popular' DB has some serious licensing issues... if you use it for commercial gain, you will have to pay. If you truly want a free DB, take a look at the arguably better DB of PostgreSQL.

Not true - Juicy

I just read the license. As far as I can tell, you can use MySQL for commercial purposes, as long as you're not redistributing it as part of a closed-source application. So unless you develop and sell software that incorporates MySQL, this is not an issue.
