stupid "Session IDs"

Feedback Type:  Commentary

Contributed by: Hal Itosis Wednesday, February 16 2005 @ 08:38 PM PST

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

Recommend Product: YES

If my ISP dropped the (dialup) connection, Safari couldn't resume the download -- because the session had "expired". For anyone who isn't using mommy & daddy's DSL, here is a direct link to avoid the BS:

http://softwareupdates.roxio.com/gm/updaters/mac/toast/titanium/v6/toast_ti_609_update.sit

Go ahead kids, mark my comment as "unhelpful".

stupid "Session IDs" - mr. poopie pants

Sorry to say that the direct download link doesn't work. It just redirects you to the main download page. You still have to login.

link **does** work - Hal Itosis

If you use a browser that obeys silly javascripts, then yes... perhaps their redirection tricks will divert the browser. But use another program like Monica (or Speed Download, or Interarchy... or turn off java), and the link does work.

Obviously folks with good service and a good connection had no problem. (Lucky them). My comment wasn't intended for such special people. So when they mark my post as unhelpful, it simply demonstrates their blissful ignorance.

stupid "Session IDs" - Bingo!

This is completely unhelpful (but I had no problems downloading the upgrade from Roxio)

Get a job like Mommy and Daddy and get your own DSL or cable connection.
