Wow, it works the other way too, AB to Entourage. Thanks for the tip.

Explain, please - abinsf

I would appreciate a "dummies" explaination for how you drag and drop from Entourage to Address Book in an efficient manner. I don't get it.

Thanks.

Open Entourage to address book. Select the category to copy. Name the same category in Apple's Address Book. Just drag the entries from one app to the other in the correct window. Experiment on a small scale until you are sure that you have it.

That works fine if you have just basic fields like name, company, address, and email addresses. It gets some phone fields wrong and doesn't work for many of the less usual fields like custom fields. It's also only good for a one-time export/import of contacts, not for updating them which you'd want for regular synching to cell phones, etc. via iSync while still using Entourage as your regular PIM. You lose categories (the Sync script syncs Entourage categories to Address Book groups). And groups themselves. And if you just want it for a one-time export/import, you can use the Sync script free (it's free for 14 days' use) and get the greater fidelity of transfer without having to spend anything.

Just so you know. ;-)
