6.2.9 a Disaster

I told my college students that AppleWorks is one of the best software packages ever, but with 6.2.9 I can't do that. Every Apple on campus runs like a slug after the upgrade. I tried to run the 6.2.9, but it (of course) tells me I already have a newer version.

Why hasn't Apple pulled this update? Are they going to have AppleWorks die? If you have AppleWorks running well prior to 6.2.9, you might want to try on one machine for a while first before updating all.

6.2.9 runs fine on my iMac G4 - brilor--2008

I use it for several things except spreadsheets for which I use Excel. But those other functions work as expected and at a very reasonable speed.
