You are right, I did not realise that this was an independant SMS service, which required no phone - sorry.
Still way too expensive to be of any use to most users though. ICQ have offered free SMS through their service for ages.
I can send an SMS cheaper from my phone than I can if I were to use this software & that has to be nuts!
I suppose this might not be the same globally (i'm in the UK), but otherwise I can't see why anyone would need to use a pay per text service.

re: what's the point - alco

Perhaps in the past it was possible to send an SMS free with ICQ. That is not anymore the case. Please just try it. Even if it still works in the UK, it certainly won't work in other European countries.
