Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

Like a lot of people, the only iLife app I use is iPhoto (let's be honest, iTunes is *not* part of iLife). There are a heck of a lot more people who need to manage hundreds or thousands of digital photos than those who want to edit home movies. In that sense, iDVD and iMovie are totally unlike iPhoto and iTunes. iDVD and iMovie are for creating things. iPhoto and iTunes are for organizing them. It's ridiculous to charge $79 for a relatively simple program, and throw in a free one and two that you'll probably never use just to make it seem like you're getting something for your money. All that said, this $79 program crashes consistently when I try to make a book.

then why buy it, there are plenty of competitors out there. you're not to bright if you're buying a whole suite of software just for the functionality of one application and then complaining about the price.

iPhoto is not $79. The whole suite is $79. So iPhoto is more like $26.
