I've used Sidetrack for only a few months, and I've found that it is absolutely essential in order for me to tolerate apple's UI quirks. The continued lack of a single motion right-click used to drive me out of my mind and forced me to invest in expensive third party mice before I discovered this little driver. It is worth every penny- and I'd have paid three times as much for it.
With Apple's new trackpads, they add scrolling ability, but I've yet to read anything about a right-click like we get with Sidetrack. Even if they have it, Sidetrack will always have a place with the older generation of PowerBooks and iBooks since it seems like Apple plans not to give those of us with older systems a driver update. The corner taps, the button assignment- this is the driver Apple should have bundled with new machines.
I only hope the developer can find a way to add the two finger scroll to Sidetrack and completely nullify the advantage of the new trackpads. I think I read that Apple is trying to patent this, though, and it's also possible that hardware limitations will prevent this. Even if they can't, this program remains an unsung necessity for everyone with an older Apple laptop
