Can't get MacTheRipper to work

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

I've been using DVDBackup 1.3 for a couple years. It is simple to use and has never given me any troubles. I thougtht I'd try MacTheRipper because it continues to get updated, while DVDBackup has not been updated in over 2 years (but still works great, so no need, I guess). Anyway, I downloaded MacTheRipper 2.6.1 about a week ago, then v. 2.6.2, now 2.6.3, and this app either gives me an error reading a DVD, or else the app quits. i have not been able to use it to backup a DVD. So, it's back to DVDBackup unlesss 2.6.4 or later will work for me. G5 dual 2GHz/3GB/10.3.7/Sony DW-U10A 4x SuperDrive.

Can't get MacTheRipper to work - Wise_Weasel

Why don't you give us an email at mtr@ripdifferent.com or post on our forum (link to forum at the top of our webpage) so we can get your problem resolved. MTR works great for most people...

Can't get MacTheRipper to work - BloodH0und

Thanks for the note, Wise_Weasel. I went to your website and found a user in your forums (Likos) with the exact same problem I was having on the exact same DVD (I,Robot). Like Likos, after updating to a new version, I didn't delete prefs. I had actually attempted to and searched my computer for "MacTheRipper", but no prefs showed up. After browsing my prefs folder manually, it seems com.Geezerbuttz.mtr.plist is file to delete. I imagine all will be well after new prefs are created. Thanks for creating and continuing to update this app. I am sure it will be replacing DVDBackup in short order.
