Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Have Not Tried

I use the Disk Copy utility (which comes free with osX since 1.0) to create dmg files with 128 bits encryption, and it works flawless. What does iCrypt (that I have to buy) have more than Disk Copy?

What about Disk Copy - the32v

128 bit more. ICrypt uses 256 bit AES encryption vice the 128 bit in DiskCopy. So, would take someone 2^128 times as long to break into your encrypted file if working to exhaustion if your file was encrypted using iCrypt versus DiskCopy. Or they would have to use 2^128 times the computing power to do it in the same amount of time. Only you can determine if this extra security is worth the money. Also, it would be nice if an independent source verified that the encryption was truly 256-bits.

Well i used an encrypted Disk Image from the Finder.
I worked much with it.
VIP-Datas stored in it.
AND GUESS what heppend a few days ago ?
I had this thing open and my Computer crashed (Kernel Panic).
AN it's ALL GONE NOW.
Corrupted Filesystem...i can not open the Image anymore. Well this sucks.
I will NEVER use a Disk Image again ! NEVER !
