Not bad, for a start. Really lacks much of the functionality that I was hoping for as applications such as Fireworks and Photoshop easily trounce this option. I would like to see more advanced options such as 3D rendering and so forth that would allow a good match-up to push logos into Lightwave or such. Also, it would be nice to have plugin availability so that you could use Fireworks/Photoshop plugins in this application. For the price I would expect much more functionality. I could probably come up with a laundry list of features I'd like to see, but we'll leave it at this for now.

Thanks for the feedback Ylon.Whilst I appreciate that Fireworks and Photoshop can do many things that are not possible FontFX7 I don't really think this is a fair comparison. FontFX7 has been written part-time by just one person over the space of a year, whereas both Photoshop and Fireworks represent many decades of developer time. The price of FontFX7 is also a small fraction of these larger packages. I'm not trying to be combative here; I just think you need to manage your expectations slightly.
FontFX7 is not intended to be a complete solution. It has been designed primarily to create line-art effects that are very difficult, if not impossible, to accomplish in more expensive applications such as Adobe Illustrator. If bitmap oriented effects are important to you then you are encouraged to load FontFX7 created files into other applications such as Photoshop or Graphic Converter.
Sophisticated bitmap effects are likely to make an appearance in a future version of FontFX7 (or possibly FontFX8), although for Mac OS X 10.4 users only. 3D rendering is not currently on the agenda for FontFX7, but is being considered for FontFX8.
FontFX7 is still in development and I am very interested to hear suggestions for new features to add. (There are already several new features in development for version 1.5.) This is not really the right forum for such ideas but please feel free to email me your laundry list at steve_sims@kagi.com
