Why is this hack going to the Internet on start?

Feedback Type:  Usage Tip

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

Why does MenuCalendarClock Entourage want to connect to hsp-51.hspserver.com on TCP port 80?

This hangs and requires a Force Quit if no internet connection -- more importantly, it shouldn't be connecting to anything without asking me first.

Why is this hack going to the Internet on start? - Dirk_Theisen_896

Dear User!

All our beta versions do this. They only retrieve an update-checker file as stated in our FAQ. This is done to make sure all beta testers are aware of new versions as they become available.

Old betas provide a support nightmare, otherwise.

Note: Release versions do check only twice a month and even this check can be turned off.

I hope I could ease your worries.

Greetings,
Dirk Theisen, Objectpark Software
