Looking at the feature set listed gave me high hopes in this tool. However I had problems right away. For starters the UI seems very sluggish even on a small file (~8k). Clicking anywhere on the hex data took nearly two seconds to update. Scrolling was equally sluggish. Granted, the machine I tested Separator with is no screamer: iMac 350 w/512MB RAM, but something else is soaking up cycles. It was so slow that I thought it was a java app. A quick look at the bundle contents, however, showed me otherwise.
Anyway, the *real* problem is with the resource fork view. I never did get to view any resource data because just clicking the "RESOURCE_FORK" tab killed the app for every file I attempted to view.
At this time I can't recommend Separator. If you need a useful hex editor you'll be much happier with HexEdit (and it's open source).

Yep, we know about those problems with speed - we'll address it in the next release. Remember, it's still 0.5 and under active development :)about the second problem - really seems like a bug. We will release the bugfix as soon as possible - thanks for reporting.
