Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

I think this is a fantastic idea but the implementation suffers from two major problems.

1. Conflicts with Mac OS architecture. the default location for the folder containing Macabinet's documents is the root of your user folder. That's a really nonsensical location. At the very least, it should be in the Documents folder, where most other apps locate their default document location folder.

2. You can't drag aliases into the Macabinet. For folks who are very strict about how they organize their files, like me, this is a major problem. When you option-drag and drop a file on the Macabinet, the file itself is moved into the Macabinet, overriding the OS. It should be smart enough to realize one wanta to create an alias. (You can create an alias in the Macabinet folder in Finder, but what's the point of drag and drop in the app, then?) There should also be a prefs setting to create alias instead of doing a file move for the default drag and drop action, too.

Otherwise a very nice little app. But point two above prevents me from buying it.

the alias thing is valid. But as someone else stated this is not dragthing so people looking for a dock replacement may not be satisfied.
