"like something bad is going to happen" Oh come on... that's pathetic.

Uh...why is the comment pathetic? The piece of "software" clearly serves no useful purpose. For all anyone knows it could be an idea (and I stress "idea") to write a trojan horse. At least it would DO something. I can't belief anyone has so much free time on their hands to try to write something like this. Since so many people are having trouble the author(s) clearly are having some problems. Do you KNOW that it doesn't affect permissions, the Apple firewall, or any number of things? It's not a shell (because if it is it leaks memory like crazy) and if you use any kind of debugger or utility you'll see a variety of strange behavior. If nothing else, it does exhibit strange behavior. That's entertaining? What other kinds of "software" do you load on your Mac? What this "looks like" is the source code for something that's missing 1/2 or more of the components before it can be compiled. Have you looked at any of those "text" files with BBEdit (or even checked to see if there aren't some screwball invisible files?)?

Author needs to learn AppleScript, knock out a little 300-400K file, and it will pose less potential danger to the OS. Think about one comment: the zip format may have been a problem but a stuffit format isn't? Why? That's inane. Any compression method should work identically (unless it's some screwball system that isn't standardized. Why not use the Apple standard for OSx which happens to be gzip and is built into the OS if you're worried about a compression file.

the .zip did screw it up and you can't create an entire graphical program in AppleScript. *read next comment also

Dude, I'm no freaking hacker. It is a fun REALbasic program. A standalone application that does not effect the system in any way.
