All of the introductory material just mentions OSX10.3.6 but the installation instructions state the minimum is OS X Server 10.3.6.
Is there any way to work with ORACLE 10g with a standard OS X system or do I need to acquire and install a Server operating system.

ORACLE 10 G and OSX Serrver - pwforaker
According to Oracle on Mac, it is possible to install Oracle 10g on Tiger without OSX Server.
It looks to be a non-trivial installation, with a clean two-volume partition. The 120-page Oracle installation manual indicates that neither Oracle nor Apple is "supporting" this installation, but apparently it can be done. And, it's free for personal use.

OSX Server is required to be supported.A push is underweigh to make a single-user version of OSX Server available for use with Oracle. If you are interested contact your Apple Account Executive and ask them to pass it up the chain-of-command.
