Used Product For: 1-6 months

When my wife and I first found DVDTheque we thought we had found what we needed to keep track of our vast DVD collection - multi-regional because we are in two different regions in the world... We bought two licenses - and only recieved one - after I had several emails with the "developer" (I use the term very loosely) and he finally conceeded that he had been paid for two licenses we received a second registration code... My wife had been adding titles to her database and rather than have to duplicate the work, I asked the "developer" if we could just copy her databse to my system and was told that it was impossible - so when I just bluetoothed the datafile from her system to mine and started DVDTHeque up on my system and all of her work was there - i understood how little the "developer" knows about the application that we bought. What we found unnerving was that information for titles of current releases were not showing up in the "extensive multiple databases" that DVDTheque access to do the fill-in for the forms. To say we were disappointed at the possibility of having to key in infomation for most of our DVDs (over 700) into this supposed wonderful databse application is an understatement. Then a few days after this patent discovery - we received a letter from the "developer" asking us to write praising letters about how wonderful this POS is... I refrained from writing anything because I knew it would not be nice in any way... in the process I have found an application that does everything that DVDTheque wants to be able to do someday - maybe during one of its multi-daily updates - and interestingly enough it is FREE... It is called DVD Manager and it is multi-regional in its database and multilingual and VERY up-to-date... So I ignored DVDTheque until today - when I noticed another one of the endless updates and I thought well maybe the "developer" has finally got something going for him and solved some of the issues that have been mentioned over and over again in the feedback here... primarily databases beyond Region 2. Well, was I surpprised when after installation all of my data files for this POS application were AWOL... nowehere to be found on my hard drive... Classic piece of work.. fortunately for me, I have all of my data now loaded on, you guessed it, DVD Manager!!! Not only would I NOT recommend this product - if the developer was either in the USA or Australia, I would sue him for false representation that he actually knows how to write code... I lost hours of input - BUYER BEWARE - THIS PRODUCT SUCKS FOR TOO MANY REASONS TO LIST HERE Rating minus 100

One of the worst products ever developed for any operating system - jlruggeri

hi
First : When your wife bougth the licences from my product, ok I made the error not to have seen that there were two of them and couldn't guess you live in USA and she's live in Australia.I excused oneself some.Don't said you wrote a lot of mails for that, when i understood, i delivred you your serial number.
Second : I said you couldn't share the database throw the network (but now is possible...), never you couldn't exchange database file.
Third : If i don't support DVD in zone 1 it's because i don't found Web site for getting data from them that are compatible with my software.
If you like to use DVD Manager, you could and i'm sorry that you didn't use more time DVDTheque
Have a good day.

You need to make your software work with all regions - and it isn't too difficult. And you need to refund the fees to all of us who have been your constant beta testers...

If you will notice - beta software is usually free here... we help you work out the bugs and "hidden features"...

in the letter I sent to you regarding our registration - I told you my was in Australia and I was in the USA... so don't even start there.

You need to just get your software in line with what you say it can do... so far, I have yet to see anything new and improved.

And by the way, the day you told me I could not share my wife's database (which a network was never mentioned - I infact mentioned exactly what we wanted to do) was the day I made it work by copying her database to my system. You told me it was impossible. It is not a new feature.

I notice you didn't deny asking all of your subscribers to write good words for you so that your rating would stay good. Would you like me to quote that letter here?

If you are going to be in the public arena, you need to be able to stand the heat when you develop an inferior product. And your product is inferior in every way.

Nor did you address the complete loss of my database when I added your latest "new improved" update.

It appears to me that you only want to see or address the issues you feel safe with. Either get into business or get out and go play golf and let those of us who know how to be businessmen do the job.

If you had any integirty, you would offer refunds to us who are displeased with you meger attempt to create software. But I am sure that too is "impossible".

Comprenez-vous ?

Maybe my english is so poor that i don't understood all the things you wrote me ut.
1 . I never said to DVDtheque users to wrote good feedback but just the true they think about!
2 . I never undestand that you have loos your database when you made an upgrade from dvdtheque. It's the first time a 2.0 dvdtheque user said me he loose it. I m sorry and i don't know why.
3 .Send you your money. This software do exactly what i said it must do. Yopu bougth it for that. I never said you DVDTheque handle care DVD zone 1.

Hmmmmmmmm it now appears that i am no the only one "disappointed" by your lousy product.

<b>I am saying if you had ANY integrity at all - you would offer a refund.</b>

You lied about the abilities of your product. YOU never said that it was only for Region 2 databases... why do you have such a difficult time accessing region 1 databases - it is just a call out.... and as a progreammer you should know what I mean by that.

If you were honest - in any way - you would advertise that your product is for Region 2 only and that it is still in beta and that any user must be aware that you do no tkno whow to write replacement overwrites - that your upgrades have the possibility of deleting all the provious work that the unsuspecting buyer has done to add to their database of DVDs.

Once again DVD MANAGER IS FREE AND WORKS. And is stable and works for all regions.

On the other hand, DVDTheque just plain sucks.
