It does what it says it does but I wouldn't expect to burn any of these files to DVD or even VCD. The scheduler is quite robust (even though it doesn't wake from sleep). Using Quicktime Broadcaster, especially with MPEG-4 encoding, you'll be lucky to get 15 frames per second at medium quality and 320 x 240 resoultion. My Powerbook G4 550mhz got less than that. Changing the settings to DV compression actually made it worse, less than 10 frames per second. Quicktime Broadcaster's IP functions seem to take a lot of processor power. Compare this with the freeware myVCR program. It records full quality, 29.9 fps 720x480 DV on my Powerbook perfectly. You can only program one show at a time to be recorded in the scheduler but it's free and it works. The timer also keeps the computer from sleeping while running - it's not elegant but overall better than Mac PVR.
